If you’re thinking of using animation or graphics as part of your content strategy, this is good place to start. You’ll have a better understanding of how we work and how long the creative process takes. Throughout our time together, please think of us as an extension to your team. Whether you need a single infographic or a comprehensive animated series, we collaborate with you to help you meet your goals.
We combine planning, creation and strategy to get you there.
We call this entire process the Explainer Engine (E² for short), where we see your project as more than just the creation of visuals. Your E² involves:
#1: Research
We get to know all about you, your audience and your goals.
#2: A Game Plan
We collaboration to decide what kind(s) of visual content you’ll need to reach your goals and determination of what success looks like for you (sign-ups, donations, funding, sales, etc).
#3: Production (Animation or Infographic Design)
In many ways, production is a process within itself and timelines depend on the scope of the project and receiving timely feedback. We encourage clients to provide feedback as quickly as possible (within 48 hours) to keep things running smoothly.
Animation
Once we understand your goals and who you serve, the rest of the animation process involves:
a) Script writing: 1-2 weeks
b) Concept art creation (based on a style of your choosing): 1-2 weeks
c) Storyboard creation (pictures are lined up with the words in your script): 2 weeks
d) Voice over (we help you source just the right voice for your project): 1 week
e) Animation (where we make your art come to life): 2-4 weeks
f) Post-production (any music and sound effects are added if necessary): 1 week
Total Time: 8-12 weeks – prices start at $8000
The biggest contributing factors to the cost and timeline are the length and style of the video. Longer, more stylized videos simply take longer to produce, require more feedback and will inevitably require a larger budget.

Infographics
The infographic design process involves:
a) Research & appropriate source materials: 1-2 weeks
b) Concept art creation (based on a style of your choosing): 1-2 weeks
c) Infographic drafts (text and images are lined up and ready for your approval): 1-2 weeks
d) finalization and delivery: 1 week
Total Time: 4-6 weeks – prices start at $3000
Infographics requiring small amounts of animation or the addition of interactive elements will take longer. We’ll give you specific milestones and timelines based on your unique project.
One more thing…
It’s not uncommon to recycle animation into infographics and mini-video clips if it fits into your overall content plan. Let us know if you’re considering using multiple types of content as part of your strategy.

#4: Distribution
We help you publish your content to the web and we can also provide guidance with the implementation of any paid or organic strategies to get your masterpiece seen.
#5: Analysis
We provide you with regular reports on your content’s performance. This gives you the best chance of determining what’s working for you and your audience. It also allows for informed iteration moving forward.
Lastly…
We focus on data-driven strategies.
They take time to set up, time to implement and time to evaluate.
But, it’s important to know how well something worked (or didn’t) if you want to get the most bang for your buck. Over time, you’ll learn what kinds of content is resonating with your audience and what isn’t.
That’s a great start!
That’s an overview of our process, but there’s more to it.
